Any business that engages in or carries on a business within the municipal boundaries will require a business licence.
Yes, every person carrying on more than one business must obtain a separate licence for each business. If a person carries on their business from more than one premise in Sun Peaks, each premise will also require a business licence. However, if a business operates a bar, restaurant or other business within the same premise as part of one corporate structure, only one business licence is required. If the bar or restaurant were to be operated by lessees, each separate business requires a licence.
A Business Licence Application Form is available on the municipal website or by contacting our office. Upon receipt of the application and payment of the applicable fee, your licence will be issued.
Commercial premises operating within the Municipality will require a clean safety inspection within 60 days of application before a licence will be issued.
