Update 7:10pm Sunday 6 October:
Water supply has been returned to full service. The Boil Water Advisory and Water Restriction Advisory have ended.
Please run your drinking water fixtures for several minutes before consuming any water. If the water appears coloured or cloudy, keep running until it becomes clear.
Update: The Boil Water Advisory and Water Restriction Advisory will be in effect until at least Sunday afternoon. At that time, another update will be provided
Please note that due to an issue at one of our potable water treatment plants, we are asking ALL residents to curtail their water use and keep water consumption to minimum. Please avoid major water uses (laundry, filling hot tubs etc) and shorten your shower times where possible.
We have also issued a Boil Water Advisory for all properties west of the Village Way / Village Place intersection (i.e. west of Sun Peaks Center & Arena).
This Boil Water Advisory will be in effect until further notice. During this time, you may notice cloudy or discoloured water through your fixtures.
Water to be used for the following purposes should be boiled for 1 minute and allowed to cool prior to use:
- Drinking (including for your pets)
- Brushing Teeth
- Preparing food/drinks/ice (including washing food)
- Making baby formula
We are working to restore full service for water capacity as soon as possible. Please check our website (sunpeaksmunicipality.ca) for updates.
