Yes, the public is welcome at all Committee of the Whole, Special and Regular Council meetings as well as Public Hearings. However, from time to time Council may have in-camera meetings which are closed to the public.
Council meetings are accessible electronically through livestreaming on our Facebook page with recordings of previous meetings also available. Council meetings are also available via Zoom. Zoom access information is included at the top of each agenda that is posted in the Document Library.
When time allows, the Mayor will open the floor to questions from the public pertaining to any topic addressed during the meeting. If you wish to be included on the agenda to discuss an item on the agenda, a request for a delegation must be submitted no later than 4 p.m. on the day preceding the Council meeting. If you wish to address Council on a new topic, a request for a delegation must be submitted no later than 1 p.m. Wednesday prior to a Council meeting.
A delegation request must include your name, a brief outline of your presentation and any applicable background information. It is at the discretion of the Corporate Officer to schedule a delegation to another Council meeting or Advisory Body meeting as deemed appropriate. A delegation will be given up to a maximum of five minutes to make their presentation.
Public hearings will be held on an as required basis. Notification of these hearings will be posted on this website stating the topic, time and location.
