North Thompson Planned Power Outage

North Thompson Planned Power Outage

Sunday, October 6, 2024, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Please note there is a planned power outage on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. that will affect BC Hydro customers living in the North Thompson.

Everyone affected will receive e-mail and phone notifications from BC Hydro.

This outage is necessary so we can perform critical work on the transmission line that serves the North Thompson corridor to maintain its safe and efficient operation. To ensure the safety of work crews and the public, this work can only be completed in daylight with the power lines de-energized. By planning this outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent potential unplanned outages in the future.

                AFFECTED CUSTOMERS AND NOTIFICATIONS

E-mail and phone notifications will be sent to all those who will be impacted
Customers in Valemount and McBride will ‘not’ be affected by this outage.

                                        BE PREPARED

Please take all steps necessary to prepare for this planned outage:

  • First, keep your contact information up to date in your MyHydro account. We'll be able to contact you faster if there's a change to your outage.
  • Before a planned outage begins, turn off electric heaters, major appliances, and unplug sensitive electronics to protect them from damage.
  • For the first hour after the power comes back on, only plug in or turn on those electronics and appliances that you really need. This gives the system time to stabilize and prevents it from getting overloaded.
