I regret to inform you we will be taking a forced power outage this evening at 7pm to fix some infrastructure that is in critical need of attention.
The issue is located on the 1L210 line between Kamloops and Avola, where one of our transmission poles has been found with cracked timbers. Please see attached. As a result the entire circuit will have to be taken out at 7pm while we begin the work.
Shortly after the power goes out, it will return to Barriere and all points south. Everything north of Barriere including Clearwater, Vavenby, Avola, and Blue River will remain out. This outage could last as long as six hours. We are hopeful this timeframe will be shorter but we cannot guarantee this. We expect Valemount and McBride to be powered this evening by independent power producers or IPP’s.
We apologize for any inconvenience this outage will cause while we work to return power safely to all customers affected.
