Seeking Chief Administrative Officer

Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality is seeking a motivated and energetic individual with municipal leadership experience to become its next Chief Administrative Officer.

As the administrative leader of this dynamic community, the CAO advises and informs Council on the operations of the municipality and exercises the powers assigned pursuant to the Local Government Act, other relevant legislation/regulations, and implements the direction of Council.

The CAO must navigate a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and provides guidance and leadership to the management, staff, and contractors. The municipality is one of three key stakeholders; Sun Peaks Resort LLP as well as Tourism Sun Peaks and the municipality have a collaborative relationship in fulfilling the community’s vision.  

The CAO is responsible for supporting development of Council’s Strategic Plan and for providing overall leadership to the municipality’s departments in delivering services and initiatives in support of Council’s objectives. This will include the development of corporate policy, programs, projects, communications, and operational procedures.
