Sun Peaks Fire Rescue - News Release

Sun Peaks, BC – May 20, 2026 – Sun Peaks Fire Rescue contributed to the successful rescue of a missing person following a single-vehicle incident on a remote forest service road near Chase, BC.

On May 19, 2026, Sun Peaks Fire Rescue, in collaboration with the Chase Fire Department and Adams Lake Fire Department, responded to a request for assistance from the RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services following reports of a motor vehicle incident. Responding crews arrived at a challenging scene where a vehicle had rolled several times down a steep embankment, leaving the lone occupant trapped inside. Firefighters successfully extricated the occupant, who had been trapped in the vehicle since May 17, 2026. The individual was transferred to BC Emergency Health Services and transported to hospital in serious condition.
