Sun Peaks Housing Authority Launches New Website to Connect Community with Housing Initiatives and Updates
SUN PEAKS — The Sun Peaks Housing Authority (SPHA) is pleased to announce the launch of its new website, sunpeakshousing.ca, a central hub for information about the organization’s housing initiatives, strategic priorities, and community engagement.
The site will provide updates on SPHA’s BC Builds project, currently under construction at 1180 Sun Peaks Road. Community members can register their email through the website to receive project updates and important announcements as construction progresses.
The BC Builds project is a 110-unit purpose-built rental housing development that will be owned and operated by the Sun Peaks Housing Authority. Once complete, the building will provide new long-term rental homes to support the Sun Peaks employees and their families.
“This project represents an important investment in the long-term sustainability of our community,” said Len Hrycan, Chair of the Sun Peaks Housing Authority Board. “We are excited to launch sunpeakshousing.ca so residents, workers, and employers can stay informed as construction progresses and as we prepare for the future tenants who will call this building home.”
The development is being delivered through a partnership between the Sun Peaks Housing Authority (SPHA), the Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality (SPMRM), and the Province of British Columbia through BC Housing as part of the BC Builds program, which supports the creation of attainable rental housing in communities across the province.
Construction of the project is currently underway at 1180 Sun Peaks Road, with occupancy anticipated in Fall 2027.
Information about tenant eligibility, priority criteria, and the application process will be released in Fall 2026. Individuals interested in renting in the building are encouraged to sign up on the website to ensure they receive updates when application details become available.
“We know there is strong interest in new rental housing in Sun Peaks,” added Chair Hrycan. “The website allows us to share accurate and timely information with the community as we move closer to opening the building.”
