IMPORTANT NOTICE TO VALUED GAS CUSTOMERS
The prolonged increase of wholesale propane costs paid by Resort Gas Ltd has prompted a 71% increase in the rate billed to our valued customers. Market forces have unfortunately led to what we appreciate is a significant increase to your costs. We continually monitor the market price for propane and will make an application to reduce rates should lower commodity pricing be secured in the future.
Resort Gas Ltd. is mandated by the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) to submit the filings of the Gas Cost Reconciliation Account (GCRA) information on a regular basis. This account captures the increase and decrease of propane cost and the costs charged to customers. Rate changes are required to keep a reasonable balance in the GCRA. Any rate change recommendations are submitted to BCUC for approval.
The latest increase in the commodity charge was approved by the British Columbia Utilities Commission on March 14, 2022. The increased commodity rate is effective January 1, 2022. The adjustment for the January usage will be invoiced prior to your February 2022 billing.
