BC HYDRO POWER OUTAGE NOTICE - Oct 25, 2026

RESCHEDULED: Two planned power outages in North Thompson Valley on October 25

KAMLOOPS: BC Hydro has rescheduled two power planned outages in the North Thompson Valley which will now take place on Sunday, October 25, 2026. These outages are required to perform critical maintenance at Heffley Creek substation and on the transmission line serving the region. These planned outages have been rescheduled to accommodate advance voting for the 2026 provincial election.

Outage #1

  • Date: Sunday, October 25, 2026
  • Time: 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (6.5 hours)
  • Customers affected: Approximately 2,176 
  • Communities impacted:
    • Heffley Creek
    • Sun Peaks

Outage #2

  • Date: Sunday, October 25, 2026
  • Time: 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (2.5 hours)
  • Customers affected: Approximately 8,742
  • Communities impacted:
    • Barriere
    • Clearwater
    • Blue River
    • Vavenby
    • Avola
    • Little Fort
    • Valemount
    • McBride

For the safety of the public and crews performing this work, these outages will occur during daylight hours. All impacted customers with up-to-date contact information will receive notifications via e-mail and automated phone calls. Some customers living near Heffley Creek, Knouff Lake and McLure are on a different circuit and will not be impacted by this outage.
